Excel Add-In Version 7.8.5

September 01, 2020 - Build 7321

The supported versions of Excel include the following: Excel 2010, Excel 2013, Excel 2016, and Excel 2019. Although not explicitly supported, there are currently no known issues when using the add-in with Excel 2007.

The supported versions of Essbase include 9.3.0 and higher.

This release contains the following changes:

  • Fixed Issue in the Essbase Calculations dialog - The Run calculation in the background option can be configured with a default value, which is used to set the option as checked or unchecked when initially displayed. In versions prior to this release, when the configured value is "true", the option is not checked in the dialog. While this has been corrected, it should be noted that once the user explicitly changes the checked state, the state is cached, and then restored when the dialog is subsequently opened within the same or another session. #2548

  • In version 7.8.3.7209, a new configuration setting, MemberSelectionDialog_CacheSizeAndLocation was introduced in an attempt to work around an issue with the Member Selection dialog. A customer reported that a few users had started getting an "Error creating window handle" when attempting to open the dialog. This does not appear to have resolved the issue, and while not able to reproduce the issue internally, we have made another change which may possibly prevent the error. #2492

  • Fixed Issue with Member Selection Dialog, which occurs when both a base member and the related shared member have the same parent. An error similar to the following is presented: Unable to add dimension "Year" to the tree. Key already exists, key Year-FY20. #2564

  • Fixed Issue with the EssVCell Spreadsheet Toolkit function, which was returning a value that did not reflect non-English region format settings, such as the decimal symbol, when assigned to a cell in the worksheet. #2330

  • Added the EssMenuVLinkedObjects Spreadsheet Toolkit function, which is only supported for use with Essbase data which is retrieved by the user with the ribbon tools or mouse-initiated retrievals. #2568
