Excel Add-In Version 7.8.0

The supported versions of Excel include the following: Excel 2010, Excel 2013, Excel 2016, and Excel 2019. Although not explicitly supported, there are currently no known issues when using the add-in with Excel 2007.

The supported versions of Essbase include 9.3.0 and higher.

This release contains the following changes:

  • Fixed Issue with License Validation: When the Dodeca metadata service starts, if license information cannot be obtained because the database is temporarily unavailable or the configured credentials are expired or otherwise invalid, the metadata service must be restarted after the underlying issue has been corrected. Until the metadata service is restarted, all clients will receive an error similar to the following when attempting to launch Excel: The Dodeca license could not be validated. A valid license could not be found. #2421

  • Fixed Issue with Member Select: In a specific customer’s environment using Office 365, the Member Select dialog displays an empty member tree after first opening the dialog connected to a given server, closing the dialog, then changing the connection to a different server and opening the dialog again. #2398

  • Fixed Issue with Undo/Redo: If a worksheet is protected, attempting to perform an Undo results in the following error: EssbaseExcel.ClearRange failed. The cell or chart you’re trying to change is on a protected sheet. To make a change, unprotect the sheet. You might be requested to enter a password. #2395
