Excel Add-In Version 8.0.4

The supported versions of Excel include the following: Excel 2010, Excel 2013, and Excel 2016. Although not explicitly supported, there are currently no known issues when using the add-in with Excel 2007.

The supported versions of Essbase include 9.3.0 and higher.

This release contains the following changes:

  • Fixed Issue: When the Use SmartLists option is enabled, the following error occurs when a user, who does not have Admin privileges, attempts to connect: User [<user name>] Does Not Have Correct Access for Command [OpenOutlineEdit]. or retrieve: Unable to perform Essbase Retrieve operation. Invalid login id - please login again. #3014

    IMPORTANT

    Although the errors will no longer occur, in order to allow for SmartLists to be available for users who do not have Admin privileges, JNDI must be configured on the server and have a DEFAULT configuration with Admin credentials that have the necessary permissions.

  • Fixed Issue: When the Use SmartLists option is enabled, and the retrieve contains a large number of members that are Text or Date Measures, but are not assigned a value (i.e. are Missing), the retrieve will be significantly slower than when the members are assigned a value.

    While the issue has been addressed for the case when the Use SmartLists option is enabled, if the Show drop-down list is also enabled, given the same conditions, the retrieval will again be significantly slower. #3019
