Excel Add-In Version 8.5.0

The supported versions of Excel include the following: Excel 2013, Excel 2016, Excel 2019, Excel 2021, and Microsoft 365 Excel for Windows Desktop.

The supported versions of Essbase include 9.3.0 and higher.

The release notes for this version contain the following items:

EPM Cloud Connections

  • Enhancement: Added support for connecting to EPM Cloud, including support for OAuth connections configured in the Dodeca repository that perform authorization via an embedded browser. #3713

    In order to support OAuth connections to EPM Cloud, an EPMCloudPlanning connection must be configured in the tenant containing the ExcelAddInConfiguration.

    Subsequently, the ExcelAddInConfiguration must be configured to utilize the defined connection as an AuthenticationConnectionID for the appropriate EPM Cloud server.

    Regardless of whether the EPM Cloud Planning connection utilizes OAuth, the dimension names must be configured via the Database property of a new connection override.

    When an Essbase or EPM Cloud Planning server is configured to use an AuthenticationConnectionID, that connection will be used to perform connect to the server.

  • Enhancement: Add support for TLS 1.3 connections to the metadata and/or Essbase and EPM Cloud connector services.
